For more information visit www.oipc.org.
This conference will showcase leading edge
intentional and unintentional injury prevention
strategies that target the needs of people of
all ages, living in different geographic, social
and economic environments.
Why Injury Prevention?
Injury is the leading cause of death for Ontarians
aged one to 44 years. In fact, every hour of
every day, 65 people in Ontario are injured
and roughly 11 people die from their injuries
each day. Injury also poses one of the greatest
economic burdens on the province at more than
$5.7 billion annually. Yet, most injuries are
predictable and preventable. The Ontario Injury
Prevention Conference is dedicated to addressing
this leading public health problem by building
capacity within the province to reduce the rate
of injury.
New for 2007!
This will be the first Ontario Injury Prevention
Conference to be hosted by a Northern Ontario
community and will focus on issues related to
unintentional and intentional injury within
both the public and private sectors. Join us
for a truly unique event experience where innovative
strategy will meet northern hospitality.
